Weisinger Pockets Day-One Lead at Lake of the Ozarks Pro-Am
Story by John Neporadny - Photo by CE Hanes L.L.C. Osage Beach, MO-Jerry Weisinger feels right at home when he can churn mud with his trolling motor. The Wyandotte, OK, angler is known for fishing shallow on his home waters at Grand Lake and he found the shallows of Lake of the Ozarks to his liking today as he took over the Day One lead of the Fall Pro-Am with a five-fish limit weighing 17.94 pounds. |

| Weisinger relied on a three lures to catch his fish in pockets. "The pockets that had the shad in them were the ones that were holding a lot more fish,"
disclosed Weisinger. His most productive baits included a black and blue Eakins' Pro Model Jig, 3/8-ounce Stan Sloan spinnerbait and a Bomber Model 7A crankbait. "Most of the fish were real shallow," said Weisinger. "They were relating to wood and rocks and were coming out of 2 to 3 feet of water." Although he caught a limit, Weisinger is unsure if he can repeat the feat tomorrow. "They weren't biting for me as well as they were in practice but I think the wind helped," he said. "They've been real picky and I don't know if I can catch them again or not."
